If you speak to many of the regular visitors who have experience of Pattaya girls they will without doubt say to you MONEY! And yes I have to agree many of the young Thai girls working here in Pattaya are after that and just that, end of story. And to put it in a nutshell, yes the financial support and security an older man can offer is a big part of the attraction and it is important to her, however its not necessarily the main reason. One bar owner I know who has a few girls in his bar said to me that many of these girls do genuinely become attached to a guy. It causes him problems!
But just a moment, is it possible to meet a decent Thailand girl in "sin city" even in the beer bars? well take it from me it is. After many evenings of carrying out research in these bars, talking to bar girls I have had some real surprising conversations. I once met a very attractive Pattaya girl, she had just started work as a hostess in one of my regular places, 22 years old, no children, reasonably educated and of course originated from near Isaan. She went on to explain she had come to Pattaya purely and simply to meet a Farang (westerner). This is not just a one off occurrence. I have had many similar encounters in coffee shops and shopping centre's. Unfortunately the vast majority of these young Thai girls don't meet with Mr right and after a few Mr wrongs and financial pressures from family etc, some can slip and slide deeper into the sex trade. So the moral of the story is if you are serious about finding a Thailand girl you can do so here, when you do meet her whether in a bar, coffee shop or wherever, you need to be quick in whisking her away from sin city. However if you are on the lookout for a long term partner or dare I say wife just keep this in mind. When it comes to Pattaya girls especially a young Thai girl. You need to keep a healthy amount of skepticism and a good dose of negativity! Why? well anything can happen in just a short space of time, and I do mean anything. So if you remain a little skeptical you won't be too disappointed.
You should also bear in mind that a certain amount of financial support could be necessary. Which in itself can be a minefield. You could be thinking is she taking advantage, is this right, and a whole bunch of other things. To help you out on the is she taking advantage thought, think about it like this... If she was working on a farm in the village, a shop or whatever her salary would be 3000bt/5000bt per month. So if she asks for 25000bt per month, yep, she's tryin it on. To help you further I would recommend purchasing a good book on Thai culture. Internet dating and introduction agencies There are literally dozens of Thai dating agencies and I have to admit I have never used one. But I have heard good and bad reports not to mention very bad reports.  My experience of Thai dating sites is limited to what guy's have told me regarding their personal experiences. Three English men come to mind immediately. Two of these guys explained to me they registered with the dating site as they did not want to trawl the bars hoping to meet a decent Thailand girl. They both hooked up with Thai teachers from the same small town in central Thailand. Definitely quality women, I have met them both along with the two guys. They are both retired and are now visiting Thailand on a regular basis and thinking of retiring here in Thailand on a semi permanent basis. Speaking of quality women, I have stayed in many small towns and there are always lots of these women on various dating sites. If its something you are thinking of I would say go for it you never know who you could meet. Speaking of small towns in what I call real Thailand, well away from the tourist locations. If you are a single man and looking for a serious relationship with a Thailand girl that has never seen a beer bar or even Pattaya, you could do a lot worse than visiting one of these places. I kid you not you will be amazed at just how many Thai women there are to meet. And when I say meet I don't mean in some seedy bar, I mean like just crossing the road sort of thing which is exactly what happened to me just a few weeks ago. The only drawback to this approach is you need to have at least a little experience of Thailand, otherwise you will struggle to book a room in a hotel or even order a meal! But its all good fun learning.  If you are looking to do some Thai dating or you have or think you have found a good Thailand girl then like me at one time you will be clueless about Thai culture.
