A Thai Girlfriend

I have recently carried out a little research about having a Thai girlfriend I wanted to see what other websites had to say. And it would seem most of it has been written by men who are not living in the real world. One site writes about her saving you money, "just give her a list of items and some cash" well I'm sorry to say it does not always work like that!

First of all can she read the list let alone understand it! If you want her to go and buy a bed for example along with a few other items, she will not go and buy exactly what you want. Which could be a perfectly adequate and comfortable but budget priced bed, she will buy the most luxurious bed she can find and your Thai girlfriend will not be thinking about the budget for the other items. Why... Because you have given her a pile of money and she can, Oh and don't be surprised if she also has her hair done too.

You shall soon discover Thai people do not think and plan the same way as a westerner would. Do not get me wrong here your girlfriend can and will save you money on most items. I was in a relationship for almost 4 years and it took me for what seemed a lifetime to get her to understand that money coming out of the ATM had to be replaced. She did not understand the concept of working to a budget, not for a long time anyway.

But does having a Thai girlfriend really save you money?? Personally speaking (from experience) I would say not. She will cost you money, whether you have a Thai wife who is as pure as the driven snow or you met a bar girl from one of the seediest Short time bars on Pattaya Soi 6 there is always and I mean always family who you will be expected to help financially. If she has children your expenses will eventually go through the roof. Another site I visited said you don't have to pay a girlfriend to be with you unlike a Pattaya girl. Well try this,, If you do have a long term girlfriend just turn off the money tap and if you can tolerate the nagging I guarantee you will be alone in a short space of time, she will be gone!

Staying on the subject of paying her to be with you, another website compares having a bar girl to having a long term girlfriend and also suggests a girlfriend will be advantageous, financially that is. Remember I'm speaking here from personal experience, the site goes on to say that with a bar girl you will have to pay a Bar fine, which is true. Paying her for the night or I should say by the day, food, entertainment etc, again all perfectly true. However after a few days you can say bye bye. Or lets say you want the girl as a traveling companion for one month. I know for a fact that a months salary of 10.000Bt will be acceptable and say a bar fine of 5.000Bt. If you meet a freelancer or one of the Pattaya beach girls then forget the bar fine.

When you have a Thai girlfriend there are the household expenses, you will have to foot the bill for all utilities food for the family etc, etc. I won't even mention school for the kids, visits to the Doctors, dentists and even the vet! I know one guy who has just paid 70.000Bt for one term at college. Needless to say these expenses are ongoing, so if you are looking for a long term girlfriend or an escort for your holiday you need to know exactly what to expect and how to go about things!
