For the best training, go to a Thai boxing camp.

Thai boxing camp

When I first looked into Muay thai training here in Pattaya, I thought Mmm, I aint coming on holiday and having the crap beaten out of me for a week! But I was missing the point, and the point was, I was on holiday,, a lot of guys and women come here just for the training. The location is the icing on the cake, and to some its an activities holiday in Thailand, to others its a serious opportunity to learn new techniques on the path of their professional career. And to be honest at that time I was looking at the wrong type of place for me! A professionally operated camp would not let an absolute beginner spar with a much more experienced partner.

What can you expect

A thai boxing camp will often have instructors who are not only experienced trainers, but are often professional fighters. Many camps are not just limited to Muay thai training you can also be trained in western boxing, MMA, Kickboxing, Krav Maga and self defence.

Most places are divided into three levels.

Advanced

For those who have plenty of experience already and maybe professional.

Intermediate

is for students with some experience but not professional.

basic

for beginners and those who perhaps have no experience at all but would like to learn a little.

The courses are available for both men and women, some boxing camps even do courses for children.

A modern Thai boxing camp like the ones here in Pattaya will often have up to 3 boxing rings where you can train and spar, some camps even have an MMA cage. Not to mention the gym, sauna, and restaraunts.

And after a good workout in the gym, what would be better than a great Massage

Quite often there will be a dietician on the staff to help you choose a diet thats right for you, although I would say this is only in the locations that caters for the more serious trainee.

To sum up

You could have a great holiday and learn something new at the same time. Not to mention lose weight and get fit in a great location. If there is a group of you, no problem. Many camps can cater for this.
