The The All Seasons Pattaya Hotel is situated in an area I know very well and to me its the best location in town. The reason is that its so central to everything, including the shops, bars and the beach which is only a 10 minute walk from this particular hotel. Many of the reviews give this hotel a rating from terrible to great, well I know the place well and I understand why many people don't like the hotel. What do I think? would I stay there again? During my many visits to Pattaya Iv'e had many interesting and entertaining nites. Most of the bars are pretty regular places really. But sometimes you just get the urge to visit somewhere really different. One evening a friend and I really stepped out of our comfort zone and tried somewhere totally wild and a little out of the ordinary shall we say. On my many visits to La la land I have met with plenty of guy's who are sort of semi retired or work their nuts off back in their home country to be able to spend the winter time here, enjoying the good life. Some of these guy's have often said to me wouldn't it be great to live here, but how can I make enough to survive?

Well the good news is you can do it by working online, you just have to know how and what to do. I personally have this website and I also now do other work which is based online. The problem with online opportunities is that there is so many get rich quick scams and other bullshit out there that the internet is considered scam central, so genuine online opportunities tend not to be found.

I shall soon be doing a page with a few online opportunities highlighted, so watch this space. And no there won't be any get rich quick plans, cos they don't exist and unfortunately there is work involved.

The rising cost of living!!!

Oh dear, I have been talking with a number of my friends in sin city just recently and the consensus would seem that prices have been rising. One of these Pattaya addicts, I'm not mentioning names here so as to protect the innocent you see. Anyway he chirped up that western style restaurants along walking street seem to have raised their prices by about 15 to 25%, he puts it down to the fact its high season now combined with the flooding in Bangkok.

Another guy in the bar pointed out beer has gone up to around 125Bt, which is seriously bad news. But thankfully rents and utilities have remained stable. One reply to the cost of beer was "I just get a cold one from 7-11 and sit on beach road"

There were many other comments in the bar the other night but personally I don't think its just Pattaya where the cost of living is increasing its pretty much worldwide. And all I can say is thank heavens its still far cheaper to live here, Happy Day's

Unfortunately I have had to delay my trip to Pattaya due to the mass exodus of people from Bangkok escaping the floods in Thailand, and the chance of me actually getting a hotel room is virtually none and I'm not too keen about sleeping on JB's sofa.

Most of the people arriving in Pattaya recently are of the middle class variety with families, most of them dressed in black and a touch of gold with expensive haircuts! All wandering about looking very serious and as Pattaya is very laid back they may need to acclimatise a little.

Most of the hotels and condo blocks do not allow pets but many of these "refugees" have brought along their pooches. I guess the pooches are refugees also.

My friend said its quite funny to watch the Hi-So girls trying to get a room in what is not much more than a brothel, and the locals also find it amusing.

Apparently Pattaya hotels are at the moment packed to the rafters and there are very few rooms available. I spoke with my good friend JB the other day who went on to say that many people from Bangkok who have been caught up in the Thailand floods have re-located there. If you are looking to come down for this weekend you may want to look at my Pattaya hotels Where to stay page. Anyway JB also noted as he would, that not only have the regular folks of Bangkok invaded sin city but so have many of the Bangkok hookers! For him this is happy days as it evens out the supply/demand ratio a little. And as the hotels in Pattaya are a little over subscribed many of them have taken to sleeping on the beach. Pattaya New Plaza runs between Soi Buakhou and second Road, just a couple of hundred meter's before you get to Central Road if you are heading north. I have watched this area develop and improve over the past 6 or 7 years, it has become a thriving community of bars and other businesses. They are now about half way through the construction of a large hotel, which by all reports sounds very nice. If you are new to Pattaya, then I can thoroughly recommend this location. Many of the beer bars sell bottled beer for as low as 40Bt which is excellent value. Enjoy your visit :)
