pattaya hotels, whats best,a hotel or room, what to look out for and how much

The choice of Pattaya hotels and where to stay including rooms and apartments is truly staggering, there are hundreds of places. So how do you know where to stay.. Well the Pattaya addicts know the best value places and over the coming weeks and months I shall be pointing you in the right direction

Have you found a gem of a room? Or do you have a hotel in Pattaya? do your own review for FREE! See details at the bottom of this page.

siam-bay-veiw

Hotels in Pattaya range from high end which are truly great to stay at such as the Siam bay view pictured above. I was fortunate enough to work for two of these hotels and I can honestly say the standard of service and quality of staff were superb. And are well worth investigating as somewhere to stay. The vast majority of guys are here on a slightly lower budget, so lets focus on them for now.

apartments

A much more modest and excellent value for money place is the Queen Victoria Hotel located on Soi 6 is an excellent choice of Pattaya hotels. They also offer an excellent border run service for when you need to extend your visa. For those of you who want a totally hedonistic experience you might want to look into staying at the Penthouse hotel.

If you plan on staying for a month or so then a room, or an apartment on a monthly basis makes good sense for between 5,000 and 10,000 Baht per month. Pubs also often have rooms for the same price range and these make an excellent place to stay if its your first visit as the proprietors are often "Falangs" which have over a period of time gathered a wealth of local information who providing you are willing to listen and actually learn are happy to impart this valuable local knowledge

The term "Falang" refers to a westerner, it is a term you shall hear many times, dont be offended it is not a racist or derogatory term,

If you are not staying for a month then there are still plenty of hotels and rooms starting with budget Pattaya hotels for about 350Baht per night and mid range for between 500 and 800Baht. Some rooms may be small but are often clean and comfortable. Here's a great place to find a Pattaya Hotel

soi-14-p-klang

The picture above is of soi 14 off Pattaya klang, its easy to find as the 7/11 is right on the corner. If you were to go down that soi you would soon find dozens and dozens of apartment blocks within the low to medium budget range.

This location is very central for getting anywhere. And it is far enough away from the main Pattaya bars to be reasonably quiet in the evenings, if sleep is your priority for that evening!

Before booking the room remember to actually check it first

Every place I have stayed at has usually asked for payment up front or at least part payment, which is fair enough. I personally always pay by cash, if you do wish to pay by plastic don't be surprised if they also make a copy of your card Do not let the card out of your sight, this goes for shopping and restaurants. Credit card fraud is a popular pastime! Cash or card they will also want your passport details.

IMPORTANT always make sure you grab a few hotel cards and do not leave the hotel to go exploring without one. Its amazingly easy to lose your way. Its also a very good idea to get a map of Pattaya.

A young man once stopped and asked if I spoke English, this was on a small side street, When he realised I spoke English he became very emotional and explained to me he had left his hotel at 9am it was now close to 6pm he had no idea of where he was or even the hotel name. His passport, money, everything was in his room... Big problem
