Pattaya hotels... before booking the room, its a good idea to check it.

when arriving at any of the Pattaya hotels I have not stayed at before I have found they will often encourage you to look at the room, I would suggest you do! and if they do not this would now make me think. So if they do not offer, ask.

First thing to check is the bed, many places have incredibly hard mattresses. I once commented on this to a friend, he suggested try turning it over..I did and low and behold the other side was softer?

Other things to check are the fan/air-con, do they actually work and not too noisy, same goes for the refrigerator. Having something clattering away all night is not pleasant. Also check the shower and toilet. While your at it check for damage, particularly tiled floors and walls. You don't need to make a big drama of it just point it out.

And definitely something else to look out for when checking a place to stay are the dreaded karaoke bars, you may or may not like them. Participating is one thing but listening to some drunk falang whaling a rendition of New York New York at 3am is not conducive to a nights sleep! So look out for em! Also bars close by that have live music Thai sound systems only have one volume setting..Full!
