Many times I have been in tears of laughter,pattaya bars are that good.Pattaya bars Some of the Pattaya addicts, mainly the ones with a liking for beer drinking have tried to count the number of Pattaya bars on numerous nights out. Needless to say they have lost count. No matter what the estimates, and I certainly aint gonna estimate the number of Beer bars runs into the thousands! Particularly if you count all the small bars tucked away on the side of the small soi,s.
New bars are appearing all the time as bars are notorious for closing and changing owners. And to be fair Pattaya is trying to change its image and a bar might be demolished to make way for a brand new modern glass fronted ogling den with scantily clad bargirls.
There are all types of bars for all tastes so I ain't gonna, recommend any particular Beer bars. If its your first visit you will soon discover its easy to be "accosted" by a group of Pattaya bargirls and "escorted" to a seat. whichever way you enter the bar you will order a drink and along with your beer you will receive a small tumbler (BIN) and inside will be placed a receipt for each and every drink or round of drinks. If you are in a group it is possible to have separate bins. When it comes time to leave simply ask to CHECK BIN and you shall be presented with a total amount. I recommend that before you check bin you have a quick count up as the bar girl is with you. Even if you cant count your fingers due to "intoxication" you will have been seen to count and less likely to receive any "extra" receipts
You will notice somewhere over the bar a bell, this bell is not for service. Ringing this bell signifies you are buying a round of drinks for everybody in the bar including the bar girls. Believe me, do not ring this bell for fun or as a joke. Bar fine? whats a bar fine.. Well lets just say you meet a "nice girl" and you would like to move on somewhere. Simply ask to pay her Bar fine, and a receipt will be placed in your bin. Once you have paid this she should then be with you and not taking care of other customers. Which is why it is a good idea to move on. Most bar girls can leave, but some places reduce the bar fine later in the evening. A pattaya bar with no bar girls = no customers.
As pattaya changes over the years there are more "pubs" opening serving excellent food, large screen tv,s etc, etc, and they are a good place for a family in pattaya. It is a good idea to have at least one of the bars you can go to without having female attention. So you can relax with a drink or just talk and have some banter with your friends and believe me street watching is great entertainment. When you find a bar that you like for whatever reason, make it clear to the bar girls by saying something like "tonight not look for lady..Dink only" if that don't work just put them on ignore, the message will get through. Don't get me wrong you certainly don't have to be rude about it and if you do have to be very blunt you are probably in the wrong bar.
