living in Thailand, you can too!

How I came to be living in Thailand...

Hi my name is Neil, let me tell you how I came to be living and working here in Thailand, the land of smiles (LOS).It is not all plain sailing and yes there are obstacles, but you can get around them, it can be done.

It all started I guess about 7 years ago when I first came here. I had wanted to come before then but the usual story of being tied to a business prevented me, sound familiar.

In what now seems a previous life many years ago I was in the British Army and travelled all over the world,, some nice places but most not so nice! Because of my travels I knew I would love the tropical climate, but I did`nt know how much I would come to love it here.

pattaya-bay

Every morning is glorious sunshine and evenings are balmy, it`s always BBQ time if you wish, or a day relaxing by the pool.

Many of my friends in the UK would love to do the same, and I have said to anybody who asks that they can if they want to do so... you just have to "do it"

LIVING IN THAILAND

You need a plan,

For the past few years I had been working in the UK for eight months, and coming to Thailand for four months. I sold my business before my first trip here, selling that was something I wanted to do anyway.

I never did like the 9 to 5 routine and I have (nearly) always been self employed and for the past few years I have worked in the security industry, mainly looking after idiots that can't look after themselves for one reason or another.

I sort of enjoyed my work but that was it, it was just work. And to save for my trips to the LOS I also did other jobs, and not only was it work, work and work the weather was so depressing, very little in the way of sunshine. If it was`nt raining it was blowing a gale or usually both!

It is now nearly two years since I decided to move here, and I remember making the decision. It was late one "summers" evening I was working outdoors, it was rain and gale force winds as usual and I was freezing my chocolates off. I said to myself, its time to "do it". The following day I booked my ticket and applied for my visa.

So what was my plan?

I knew more than 3 years ago I would eventually want to be living in Thailand, So I started to research various opportunities for working over here. As I did`nt want to arrive here unable to work and survive. The outstanding favourite was teaching English. I soon discovered that a degree was`nt absoluteley necessary nor was the ability to speak Thai. There`s a good demand for teaching English in Thailand and although the salaries are not outstanding they are adequate to get by on. I say get by because most guys coming to Thailand cannot seem to get out of the holiday mindset, and on a teachers salary alone you ain't gonna be visiting the go go bars too often before it`s gone.

Pattaya

is a fantastic place, it is fun, it is loud, it is a great city and I mean a great city, it is everything you want, it is not though Thailand. It is a wild mix of west and east where the two meet on a sort of mutual compromise. Although I like Pattaya and regularly visit I no longer live there, even though I worked at two of the most prestigous hotels in the city I wanted to leave for the real Thailand.

I lived and worked in Rayong for a short while, which is about 70k south of Pattaya.

But I wanted beautiful rural and no tourists. I found it in a province called Phetchabun, and it is a wonderful place, I also can't believe that so very few tourists get up here.

Paradise??

Before I left England I had several goals, and long before I left I decided I wanted to live in rural Thailand in a decent house, not a mansion just a regular house. Both of these I have achieved.

However, I also now have virtually a full time job in order to provide these things.

And teaching English to a bunch of Thai kids can, believe me, be great fun, not to mention highly rewarding and the opportunities for advancement or diversification into say corporate training are there. But I`m heading in the direction of a full time job working for someone else... Not part of my plan.

Am I a career teacher teaching English in Thailand ?... No its a means to an end if I'm honest!

I wanted to find a job that gave me freedom to work when I wanted and where I wanted. So I could travel more if I wished, work long and hard or have a lazy day..... Sound difficult..

Not only did I want to work from home, I wanted to work from my room in Pattaya, or anywhere else. Take a look at this work from home

As I said I had a plan and I wanted it to take place here in Thailand, the first part was to get a steady job to provide an income, which I have done.

The other part of my plan and long term solution... e-commerce... a website!

But how

And who with! I decided a while ago that e-commerce was the way forward, every year more and more people are doing business online. And I wanted to be part of it, but I was concerned.. very concerned as I knew next to nothing about computers, the internet, let alone HTML whatever that was. My computer skills amounted to sending an email.

The answer

Came to me after weeks of searching and more searching, which mainly turned up various and dubious get rich quick schemes. Which incidentally don't exist and I have done a lot of checking and trying over the years.

That's when I discovered SBI and this site has been done with their help, remember just a short while ago I could only send emails. So if I can do it so can you.

Simply take a look at the Home page it could change your life!

IF YOU CONTINUE TO DO THE SAME THING YOU WILL GET THE SAME RESULTS.

SBI stands for site build it, I have two or three hobbies or Passions you might say, but I wanted to write about and possibly help people come to Pattaya.

SBI showed me how to turn any topic into a realistic, viable and profitable website. You may not know this but almost any topic can make money with a website.

Maybe you are already in Pattaya operating a small business or thinking of starting one.. Or just looking to make money online.. I know I was, and if you are a newbie, please just look at This

You don't need to be a computer programmer, web designer and you dont need to have a business or any products to sell. All you need is your brain and motivation. SBI provides all the tools you need, and they show you and teach you how to use everything

I TRULY WISH I HAD DISCOVERED THEM YEARS AGO!

They will help you decide on the topic that's right for you, they will help you build it and then they show you how to get traffic to it, and then they even show you how to make money from it! No matter what it`s about.

I would like to point you in the direction of some real life SBI`ers. These are people who have succeeded with SBI as I am. check out these case studies

Finally I welcome any comments or questions so please contact me
