Bus or taxi to a hotel in pattaya, I found them both fine.
Hotel in Pattaya I have done both to where I have been staying and in my opinion its a simple budget call, in other words the bus was fine but a lot cheaper than the taxis, and it took about the same time to get to my hotel in pattaya about 2 hours. If you want to arrange picking up at the airport this place is excellent Queen Victoria hotel On the ground floor of bangkok international airport, inside on the far left, as you are exiting the building, there is a small desk with blue chairs adjacent (no not the desk outside on the pavement) you can buy a bus ticket here, they run quite frequently and cost 109bt. The buses have always been air conditioned, clean and pleasant. This bus should stop at the top of central road on sukhumvit highway. Watch out for a big sign spanning the road which says "welcome" this is your cue to be looking for a big green road sign above the highway that says "central road" this is where you get off. A member of staff will let all the passengers know so don't worry if your not sure. Its then simply a case of getting a motorbike taxi straight to where you are staying. There is usually at least 6 taxibikes waiting, just show him the hotel details, whose address etc, you have in your wallet or bag. Its important to have this in writing as the guy on the bike most likley will not understand if you try to simply tell him. So do have it in writing. There is also an excellent alternative bus service to pattaya which costs 200Bt its operated by the bell travelservice co,ltd. They also offer a door to door service from the arrival hall at suvarnabhumi airport to your hotel in pattaya and vice versa If you go to there site you can book everything direct Bell travel sevice If you have not booked a door to door service, the bus is easy to find, simply go to Level 1 Gate 7 The times are as follows From airport 0800 1000 1200 1400 1600 1800 From pattaya 0600 0900 1100 1300 1500 1700 1900
Above is the north Rd bus station where you will be taken. It is then on to a baht bus or if your feeling brave on to a motorbike taxi!! Both pictured below

Unfortunately your vacation in pattaya will eventually come to an end. Getting to the airport is simply doing the above in reverse With an important exception allow at least 5 hours for your journey I once left for the airport by taxi, about halfway into the journey the vehicle suffered a flat. Not a major problem you might think, but remember this is Thailand! After 20 minutes the driver discovered he had not got the tools to change the wheel. After a further 20 minutes on the phone, calling various people. The driver mainly through sign language and various grunts of English gestured help was on its way!! Me thinking a breakdown truck or similar. It happened to be a taxi driver friend with a passenger on board, who turned out to be an Irishman. We both looked on for a further 20 minutes and came to the obvious conclusion they did not have a clue how to change the wheel. Both myself and the Irishman intervened and changed the wheel in 15 minutes. We shook hands and got on our way I got to the check-in desk just in time,, Phew!
