Go go bars are always behind closed doors and some of which have quite imaginative names.  Inside these dimly lit Pattaya go go bars you can expect to see a stage or large tables with the regulation chrome pole where the bar girls will dance, and I use the term dance very loosely here. The girls will be scantily clad if clothed at all! somewhere about their person will be a badge with a number, If you would like that girl to come and sit with you just give the number to the drinks attendant, Although this is rarely necessary as the girls in go go bars are not slow at coming forward.. believe me, a smile from you and she will soon be sat next to you! Oh no here we go again! And if you aint used to this situation you will soon be buying a drink for her as these girls can be very very persuasive. And it ain't so much what she says "you buy me dink" but most guys on vacation here are just suckers for these beauties and cant say no. And before you know it your getting into a situation, possibly an expensive one. So do not make prolonged eye contact "if possible" I know you will be drooling, and do not be afraid to say no. On the other hand if you want her attentions...
And you like her go for it.. The Bar fine in a Pattaya go go bar will start at around 500 or 600Bt and can go upwards from there. I have seen the bar fine "advertised" on the wall but this is rare. The fee for "personal services" is something else. The going rate for a bar girl or freelancer is about a 1000Bt for an overnight "assignment", But your dealing here with a go go girl who are considerably more professional and switched on not to mention ruthless,, Whatever you do, do not pay the bar fine and leave with her without negotiating fees, all sorts of situations can arise. You both need to know the deal. Its a simple case of asking, or she might even start the negotiating up front! When you ask you could get any figure as an answer, remember the benchmark figure 1000Bt. I once..Er I mean a friend once started negotiations and was asked for 10,000 baht..Hmmm he and her eventually agreed on 1500Bt. So why she ask for 10,000Bt because many a Pattaya tourist on vacation, brains at home would have paid it.
Some go go bars put on stage shows later in the evening, and as long as you are broad minded certain "acts" can be highly entertaining. do experience, I would go as far to say in some cases I cant believe you don't have to pay a cover charge, after having said that the drinks tend to be more expensive, Although there are some very good value for money places where drinks are not too extortionate. Pattaya go go bars can also vary in quality where most are OK some are totally superb and in some cases the only thing missing is sawdust on the floor and a spittoon! Most of them are located in and around walking street south Pattaya. The entrance to which is pictured below
They generally do not open until early evening. One of the benefits of these places is that there are no hawkers to peddle their trinkets and freelance bar girls are mostly discouraged also. A word of caution here be careful about taking photographs its not just the bar girls and management but for some reason many customers do not take too kindly about being snapped quite possibly a high court judge or a man of the cloth back home!!
