Car hire Pattaya, Many places offer it.

Car hire Pattaya

There are the usual big companies for car hire in pattaya which are, Hertz, Sixt, Budget and Avis. There are also many small independent car hire operators who may be a little less expensive. But dont look at the cost only, You need to make sure the vehicle has the correct rental insurance. The driver is held liable for all claims and if you aint got insurance it could get very expensive not to mention complicated. Ask to see copies of the insurance policy and registration document, keep these inside the vehicle along with the pattaya car rental details.

All the car rental places I know of require you to pay in advance and provide a deposit of a few thousand Bt. When you are renting a car do have a good look round, and it is a good idea if you can to take pictures of any existing damage/scratches/dents etc,

beach-road

the cost for car rental in Thailand is between 700Bt and 2500Bt daily, obviously depending on what model you hire. There are numerous car rentals in pattaya particularly between beach road and 3rd road. They tend to be less expensive than the big companies, but as previously mentioned don't go on price alone.

These guys do bike and car hire in Pattaya and I personally have rented a bike from them many times without any problems. They are located on Pattaya new plaza which is easy to find. Check out their site for details.

Pattaya car and bike hire

A foreigner hiring a car in Thailand is required to have an international driving license or a Thai drivers license to be able to drive in Thailand. If you do get stopped by the police, most will accept a license issued by your own country.

Naklua

Thailand has got mainly great roads to drive on and most signs are in Thai and English. Driving at night can be hazardous due to motorbikes not having lights and even driving towards oncoming traffic on a dual carriageway. Driving is a good way to see and get to know a little of the Thailand that most visitors to pattaya never see.

A self drive holiday would give you the chance to experience Thai culture and meet Thai people well away from the usual tourist destinations. And not only that you can stop where you want and for how long you want.
