Bangkok international airport, in six easy steps, Now its game on, get me to pattaya!
Bangkok International Airport Step one, Is not just arriving at Bangkok international airport, for most single guys it is simply deciding to come, sounds easy enough, but I never cease to be amazed by the number of guys who give all sorts of reasons for not doing it, everything from whos gonna look after the budgie to I cant leave the house. The house aint going anywhere the same as it dont go anywhere when you go to Borings-ville for a week or two. I think most guys are actually afraid of coming because they think it might be that good in Pattaya,, well it is that good and it could even change your life! And arriving at Bangkok international is just the start. Below is a veiw I just love on my first morning, strolling down to beach Rd,
Step two, The budget! difficult one this, you may have money to burn even if it is only for a couple of weeks more commonly known as two week millionaires and nothing wrong with that. But if you wanna stay for a lot longer you really can make that money go a long way. You dont need to stay in big name hotels in pattaya. Lets assume its your first visit and you fancy staying a month. You can get a very nice room from about 5000Bt for the month, plus 5000bt deposit for the room (to cover damages etc, you should not have a problem getting this back). For day to day living expenses ie, food and drinks etc,. I have been very comfortable on about 1000Bt daily. If your a beer bar monster and want the company of a pattaya girl on a regular basis you can easily double this, but I,m just trying to give you some idea here. So you could have a very enjoyable month for about 40,000Bt, 5000Bt you get back from your room deposit, 35,000Bt A bargain. Plus the cost of your flight..Still a bargain. Once you get to know pattaya and if you like "fried rice dishes" etc, and Thai food is delicious beleive me, you can reduce your living costs dramatically. Step three, Sort yourself a flight to Bangkok international airport, and if you plan on staying for longer than 30 days you will need a Thai visa. I would recommend a Royal Thai consulate or embassy for this. The staff at these places are very helpful and it can be arranged easily and quickly. As for your airline ticket to Bangkok, the cost of these are substantialy less in the "low season" which is May to November. The closer you leave it to November to book your flight the more you can expect to pay. A growing number of regulars including myself here, prefer to be here in the low season, cos its great! December to April is the high season, and the place is buzzin.
Step four, Insurance.. like experience is something you wish you had when you need it most! Really you do not want to come to Thailand especially pattaya without adequate insurance its a must. Step five, Book a room in advance or if your feeling adventurous like I am just get here and find somewhere. check out these pages to help you get a room Pattaya hotels What to check Low season no problem, high season, you need to know where to go, Christmas time and new year,, you might have a problem. If you do book a room via the internet or whatever, book it for just a week or less, That way if you dont like it or its too much for your budget or whatever moving is no problem, on the other hand if you like the place, extending your stay is not usually a problem.
Step six, Enjoy your stay!! You might want to read this page about getting to hotels in Pattaya by taxi from Bangkok international airport.
